1.Evaluation of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi in Soil

Keitaro Tawaraya(Faculty of Agriculture, Yamagata University)

Density of spores and external hyphae of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi were evaluated. Densities of spores collected from Brown Lowland soil and inoculum of Gigaspora margarita were determined. Germination of spores after incubation at 27℃ was determined. Density of spores collected from Brown Lowland soil ranged from <1.10 to >1.15 and number of spores (density <1.10) was less than that of spores ( >1.10 ). Germination of spores was not different among spores of different densities. Spore density of G. margarita was lower than 1.15 and most spores had density smaller than 1.10. Density of external hyphae of G. margarita ranged from 1.10 to 1.20.
